Why isn't Tungsten Metal Used to Make Aero Engines?

Image
Tungsten metal is the metal with the highest melting point in the world, with a melting point as high as 3380 ℃ . In comparison, the melting point of iron is only 1538 ℃ , and the melting point of nickel is only 1455 ℃ . Therefore, the filament made of metal tungsten is used in the incandescent light bulbs we commonly use, because only this metal can withstand the huge heat generated when current passes through. When we are talking about high temperature resistance, there may be no where we need to look for high temperature resistant materials but aero engines. After all, aero engines need to produce a large amount of energy through extremely violent combustion to drive the aircraft to fly, resulting in a temperature rise after the combustion chamber. It needs to be as high as 2000℃  or even higher. But why we didn ’ t see tungsten metal in aero engines processing, even compounds containing tungsten ? Characteristics of Tungsten Steel   First of all, because the density of tun...

How To Make A Tungsten Ring?

Tungsten , a metal element, is steel gray or silver white, has high hardness and is not corroded by air at room temperature, tungsten melting point is very high. It is mainly used for manufacturing filaments and high-speed cutting alloy steel, super-hard molds, and is also used in optical instruments and chemical instruments. China is the world's largest tungsten reserve country. Tungsten is a metal element first and It is also a non-ferrous metal, a refractory metal, a rare metal, and a strategic metal.   How Rare is Tungsten? About 50% of the tungsten ore mined in the world is used for the refining of high-quality steel, about 35% is used for the production of hard steel, about 10% is used for making   tungsten wire , and about 5% is used for other purposes. Tungsten can be used to make firearms, rocket thruster nozzles, metal cutting blades , drill bits , super-hard molds, wire drawing dies, etc. Tungsten is used in a wide range of applications, including mining, metallurgy...

What Are the Applications of Metal Elements Cubes

Image
Metal elements are an important type of elements in chemistry and have good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and plasticity. They are widely used in various fields, such as electronic products, building materials, automobile manufacturing, etc. The metal cube is a common shape in geometry, which is stable and beautiful. This article will introduce relevant knowledge about metal element cubes, including the characteristics, production methods and application fields of metal elements. What are the characteristics of metal elements? Metal elements have the following characteristics: 1. Electrical conductivity: Free electrons in metal elements can move freely, giving them good electrical conductivity. This makes metal widely used in electronic products, such as wires, circuit boards, etc. 2. Thermal conductivity: Due to the presence of free electrons, metals can quickly transfer heat. Therefore, metal materials are often used in situations where heat dissipation is required...
